Camire’s Five Touchdowns leads Emmaus to a 58-0 Win Over Allen

Two EPC teams had their season openers Thursday night. Those teams were Emmaus and Allen. Both teams were eager to play someone besides their own colored jerseys.

Allen got off to a promising start on defense, forcing a turnover on Emmaus’ first possession of the game. Emmaus quickly shifted momentum as they blocked a punt in the end zone for a safety, making Allen quickly down 2-0. From that point on, it would be domination from the Green Hornets. The next time Emmaus touched the ball, explosive running back Brandon Camire took the ball 38 yards for a touchdown. Just like that, Allen’s promising start turned into a 9-0 deficit. Camire found the end zone again in the first quarter to make it 16-0 after one-quarter of play.

In the early second quarter, sophomore QB Jake Fotta took the ball 38 yards for a score to make it 23-0. Fotta impressed many last season and is off to a good start this year as well. Junior RB Jared Groller also got his name on the scoresheet in the second, with an eight-yard TD, that made it 30-0. Brandon Camire also continued to find success in running the ball. He scored two more touchdowns in the second quarter giving him four touchdowns in the first half. The halftime score was 44-0 in favor of Emmaus.

In the second half, Emmaus started to play their younger players. For some of them, it was their first varsity snaps, and they impressed. Brandon Camire’s night wasn’t over just yet, as he scored his fifth touchdown of the night to make it 51-0. Jake Moyer would enter as QB and sophomore running back Talik Jarvis showed off his talent as he found the end zone from 23 yards out. Jarvis scored the eighth touchdown of the night for Emmaus to make it 58-0, which would be the final score.

An overall great start to the season for Emmaus, improving to 1-0, and Emmaus is certainly showing us their full potential. Emmaus will host Dieruff on Thursday, October 8th, and will look to get to 2-0.
