2022 Outlook:
1. “We have a junior varsity and a varsity roster that has trained and played in a ton of games with excellent club teams and coaches throughout the course of the year. That said, the team has very little experience at the EPC18 varsity level because of last year’s roster of 12 seniors, 8 of which are now playing in college. It was “Kind of tough to crack the line-up with a team full of that kind of talent.”
2. “We are a team that will be very fit, players have the ability to play multiple positions and in a variety of tactical formations, they are brothers on and off of the field and they “work their socks off” in training. I’m hoping that training with the 2021-2022 team last year puts the boys in a better position to meet the demands of playing in the EPC18 sooner rather than later.”
3. “It’s always concerning whenever the program loses a coach (Patrick Birns) who has been the face of the program for the past 11 years and has a 181 – 48 – 10 record. That said, we have the entire coaching staff back with the addition of 2 excellent coaches, which will surely help us to improve in some of our weaker areas. Our goal is to provide the boys with consistency as we try to maintain and improve upon the tradition and standards of excellence set forth by teams from the past.”
5. “Everyone knows the expectations of playing for and coaching at Parkland. We will continue to work on being great students, caring for our community, building a strong team bond and improving our craft as soccer players and coaches. Our end goal is to always compete for the League, District and State Championships.”
