Emmaus Boys Soccer remain undefeated with win over Central

Allentown Central Catholic came to Emmaus Memorial Field to take on the undefeated Hornets. It was a very physical game as expected, both teams came out ready to win. Emmaus and Central played back and forth for most of the first half until Patrick Walsh put the Hornets up 1-0 over Central.

Central, now trailing 1-0 late in the first half, got a free kick outside of the 18-yard box. They kicked it on target and scored. Brandon Quinn was credited with the equalizer with 1:12 left in the first half.

As the second half got underway, the physical game continued. Five yellow cards were handed out throughout the game. Neither side were able to get a winner in regulation however both teams managed to hit the post several times.

In overtime it was all Emmaus. Central couldn’t even get possession of the ball. Emmaus’ Marco Silva slipped right through the Central backline and hammered in the game winner. The final score was 2-1. The Hornets improved to 7-0 in EPC play and keep their undefeated season alive. They will take on Northampton on Friday away at Northampton. For Central, they look to bounce back against Parkland on Friday at home.
