Stroudsburg defeated Pocono Mountain East 4-2

Stroudsburg Mountaineers Varsity defeated Pocono Mountain East 4-2 on Monday in first round of District 11 playoffs.

Stroudsburg Mountaineers Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jadelyn VanWinkle induced Amber Kishbaugh to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Kinley Gioglio got the win for Stroudsburg Mountaineers Varsity. She surrendered two runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out four.

VanWinkle took the loss for Pocono Mountain East. She lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out three.

Stroudsburg Mountaineers Varsity had seven hits in the game. Madi Stewart and Jamie Bittiger all managed multiple hits for Stroudsburg Mountaineers Varsity. Bittiger and Stewart each collected two hits to lead Stroudsburg Mountaineers Varsity.
