The Emmaus Green Hornets roll into the State Semifinals

It’s that time of year when the Emmaus Green Hornets Field Hockey team looks to make a run at another State Championship. On Saturday afternoon, Emmaus traveled to Exeter High School to square off with O.J. Roberts in the PIAA 4A quarterfinals.

The Green Hornets got a goal by junior Annika Herbine in the first half. Emmaus then added two second half goals by Rachel Herbine and Lexi Kociban and the Green Hornets posted a 3-0 shutout. With the win, Emmaus now advances to the State semifinals where they will meet District 3 runner-up Wilson on Tuesday with the game scheduled for Hamburg High School at 7pm.

With the win, the Green Hornets improve to 26-0 on the season under veteran Head Coach Sue Butz Stavin, who is in her 44th season with Emmaus. The Green Hornets are in the semis for the 10th straight year and are looking to capture their first state title since the 2016 season.
