Starting this way, wins all the way!

New Lady Slaters soccer head coach, Coach Pope led his girls to their first win of the season on Friday. Defeating East Stroudsburg North with a score of 6-0, the Slaters show great potential for the rest of the season. Pope is working with an extremely dedicated group of girls which is different than he has had in years prior, working with the boys team from Pen Argyl high school. After leading the Pen Argyl team on a historic run to the States round, Pope decided to bridge the gap of the Bangor/Pen Argyl rivalry and become a Slater for this years 2019 season.

“Coaching girls is much different than coaching boys,” Pope said, “These girls are team oriented and amazing listeners. They are more focused than any other team I have worked with.” He expects great things from these girls as do we all. Starting the season with a 6-0 win and then ending their second game with a score of zeros against Pleasant Valley, the season is looking to have positive outcomes. With Pope’s optimistic mentality and the Lady Slaters team dedication as well as the immense support from the entirety of the Slater Nation, they are shaping up to have a highly successful season.
